You lead me beside still waters. Ps 23:2b
Dear friends,
The big thing we have heard the last two weeks is, “I’m leading you beside still waters.” Over the years we have learned this means two things:
The Shepherd doesn’t lead his skittish sheep to drink from raging waters. He leads them right up to the edge of safe quiet waters. He reassuringly coaxes you to drink peacefully in His protective presence.
Our Shepherd invites His anxious people straight up to the edge of honest intimacy, like looking into a mirror-like pond. He wants you to see your reflection, and His. He reminds He is with you, and you are with Him. No matter what’s going on around you, He is your Peace within.
So this is what we heard Him say in a quiet time recently. We know it’s for us. We believe it’s for you.
“Let’s be still.
Drink in My presence.
Be reminded who you are in Me.
Be reminded who I am in you.
Rest.
You belong to Me.
Be still.
Be reminded.
Be-long.”
