Dear Friends,
We ask your prayers as our daughter-in-law Beth and son Daniel expect the birth of their first child any day now! Also, prayers for our daughter Emily and son-in-law David as they expect the birth of their sixth child around June 1st!
We also ask your continued prayers for faith, healing, and miracles for Kim’s nephew Nick and Dick’s cousin Kathy—both battling threatening cancer. We declare victory in Jesus!

We continue to meditate on the above “now word” verse for all the friends of Come Rest, especially for our dear friends and co-laborers Ed and Sharon Zilka. Kim and I will host a special Come Rest Fellowship night this Sunday, 430-9, as a farewell honoring/sending the Zilkas as the Lord leads them to “new territory” to Lebanon, Missouri. They just announced the sale of their present home and purchase of their new home in Lebanon to live nearer 3 of their adult children and all of their grandchildren. Nearing their 50th year of marriage, Sharon has lived her whole life in this area and Ed has lived his whole adult life here. Though this may seem sudden to many of you, they’ve actually been seeking the Lord about this for the last year, since the passing of Sharon’s elderly mother, here in Cedar Rapids. It’s a new season of life and ministry for them in the Lord. Kim and I thank the Lord for Ed and Sharon who have been like a trusted “right arm” to us as armor bearers, assistant shepherds, and traveling warriors with us in many, many outreaches and gatherings over the last 15 years. We will sorely miss them, yet absolutely rejoice with them in the Lord’s unfolding plan for their lives. We wholeheartedly bless and send them as missionary friends in His anointing for helping people come rest in Jesus’ love and bearing His real fruit! Hallelujah! They ask your prayers that they find the right community of believers! Their one adult daughter who remains in Cedar Rapids, Angie Zilka, asks prayers for Jesus making His plans for her clear. Does He want her to stay in Cedar Rapids or move to Missouri, near the rest of her family? Angie is also a key intercessor and beloved friend of Come Rest and we stand in prayer with this wonderful woman of God in this season of discernment for her. Lord, have Your way with all the Zilkas and all the friends of Come Rest throughout our nation! Joshua 1:9 indeed!

Our Sunday morning Come Up class will meet here the 14th as usual, 830AM. Arrive early at 8 for coffee and conversation. We will release promptly at 930 as we have to attend a joint meeting of the Cedar Rapids House Church Network (of which we have been continuing mentors for 17 years). They welcome a traveling prophetic evangelist this Sunday and we have been asked to just come and watch and pray and discern what the Lord may be saying in all of it. Should be exciting and fruitful for all involved.

As we anticipate a fruitful new season of life and ministry, Kim and I have decided to upgrade cars. Our old car has been such a blessing for nine years, since the Lord led us to purchase it through our son Daniel who continues a successful career at Key Auto Mall in Moline. Now we’ve been led again to the right car through Daniel, who found us a great deal on an all-wheel drive vehicle. So we are privately selling our 2015 Chrysler 200C for $9,500. It is just under 96K miles, front wheel drive. If you know anyone who needs a car in that price range, they can call us at 319-213-5683. Our old car is affectionately named “Rocket Car” by our grandkids, because they and Grandpa have taken many “missions” to the moon for exploration and battles with moon monsters. 😊 Now it’s time for “Rocket Car 2”. Whether or not someone you know is interested in “Rocket Car One”, always remember Daniel Speight(319-389-7522) is available to you for new car sales/leasing and used car sales. Just a little pitch for our son, a faithful man of God.😊
